SPECIAL PROJECTS

 USS ST. PAUL   CA-73

New Display Mountings

The Battleship's curator approached us about doing some work for the heavy cruiser USS St. Paul CA-73. The St. Paul was in the process of moving their exhibit off the USS Salem to the Battleship Massachusetts. In doing so, new display mountings would have to be built for the display items being moved onboard.

The work involved making up a double sided display board approx. 12 feet by 4 feet that would go between existing columns on the ship, the manufacture of a angle iron frame to be hinged and mounted to a new 4 inch pipe column and a 4 sided free standing unit to hang displays on.

The men who worked on this project were:

Roland Cote (AGR-10)       Jack Floyd (AGR-11) (YR-65)

Henry MacKay (AGR-12)  Harry Miller (AGR-11) (YR-65)

Jim Spiegel (AGR-12)
